Mike Storen, the original Managing Partner of the South Georgia Wildcats, has created a stong ownership consortium. His career in professional sports management began in 1963, when he joined the NBA as promotions director of the Baltimore Bullets, moving on the become the business manager and assistant general manager of the Cincinnati Royals. In 1967, Storen founded the Indiana Pacers. As the team's vice president and general manager, he built a franchise what won two championships and led the league in attendance for three years. Storen became Commissioner of the American Basketball Association in 1974. Subsequent to its merger with the NBA, Storen became president and general manager of the Atlanta Hawks. In 1986, Storen formed Celebrity Services, Inc., a sports marketing and business consulting firm. Through it, Storen was the architect of the sales and marketing efforts for the Houston Astros. He also handled marketing efforts for the Houston Astrodome, the Men's US Indoor National Tennis Championship, the Suncoast Seniors Gold Championship and the Coca-Cola/Reebok US Youth Games. As a former Marine, Storen has played an instrumental role in creating the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
